When it comes to door latches, young people nowadays may not be very familiar with them, but the older generation should have used them before. What is a latch? In fact, a door latch is a sliding bolt that is inserted inside the door to prevent it from being pushed open. Previously, wooden or iron rods were used. In fact, door latches are also quite common in rural areas nowadays, especially in older buildings where they are commonly used, and they are also a very important part of architecture and home furnishings.
In daily life, many people confuse door latches and door latches. Although both have anti-theft and safety functions, there are still differences between the two. Below is a brief introduction to the differences between door latches and door latches.
From the perspective of shape, the door latch is in the shape of a wooden or iron rod. It can be moved left and right on one side of the inner door, and after closing the door, it moves towards the middle and inserted into the slot of another door. Once inserted inside, it cannot be opened outside. And the door bolt is circular, with a lock added on top to lock the door, and it is more commonly used on the outside of the door.
The commonly used one now is the embedded anti-theft door latch. Let's introduce the installation method of the latch.
(1) When installing the door latch, open the door so that colleagues can operate the internal and external door handles. Find the two screws on the inner door handle cover and fix them.
(2) Fix the edge of the door latch plate and the labor latch plate component when going out. Turn the cross screwdriver fixed on the door frame counterclockwise and pull the door frame plate to detach.
(3) Insert the new door lock component through the edge of the hole on the door, with a portion of the curve of the latch pointing towards the outer side of the door. The latch fixing plate comes with the wooden screws included in the door handle kit.
(4) Afterwards, enter the door and insert the handle from the outside until the cover plate is tightly against the door. Finally, use a Phillips screwdriver to tighten the attached screws.
